Last week, Cloudfm held our second company Hackathon, which has produced some very exciting outcomes.
A hackathon is a 24- hour event where small teams look at business process enhancements or product ideas and attempt to prototype working technology solutions in 24 hours.
As a tech-led business, we are always looking for the next innovation, and there’s no better place to seek innovation than from the everyday users of our systems and our engineers on the ground.
For this event, each member of the business was invited to pitch their ideas, of which there were many. Employees were then asked to vote for the one they would like to see move forward and go head to head in the ‘Cloudfm Hackathon’.
The two successful teams had 24 hours to develop their ideas and make them into a reality with the help of our talented IT team. Our teams then presented back to a panel of judges and the business, on why their project should be carried forward and put into practice.
Steve Corbett, Cloudfm’s Chief Information Officer commented:
“We had an incredible level of engagement across the business, with some really great ideas to take forward. The way in which employees from all areas of the business worked together with such drive and ambition was inspiring, and it was great to see some friendly competition between the teams.”
