We are delighted to have been awarded the ISO 45001 certification for Health & Safety. ISO 45001 is the internationally recognised, gold standard for Health & Safety management.
As a business we have held ISO certification for Environmental Management and for Quality Management for some time and we were eager to add the Health & Safety certification to that list.
The UK loses millions of workdays every year because of work-related illnesses, injuries, and accidents. The Health and Safety Executive reports that work-related illness affected 1.7 million workers in 2021 – costing the economy an estimated over £16.5 billion. By obtaining this certification, we are demonstrating our dedication to the Health and Safety of staff, contractors, and supply chain partners.
The process for certification is rigorous and has required a huge amount of work from all of those involved, we are celebrating all those individuals for their hard work, especially Carly Hall, our Health & Safety Manager who has led the process.
During our stage 2 audit we were required to demonstrate how we implement our Occupational Health and Safety Management System. This included an in-depth review of our processes including the performance of our supply chain partners. The auditor visited two Opusfm engineers, Simon Williams, and Adam Holmes, at client sites to audit their safe working processes and documentation. The auditor was thoroughly impressed with both engineers and stated we “have great people working with us.”
We would like to personally thank both Simon, Adam and Opusfm for their support during the audit and our supply chain for continuing to work safely.
