Cloudfm were delighted to welcome the Essex County Cricket Men’s First Team to Cloudfm House in Colchester this week to celebrate the new season. Cloudfm employees, neighbouring businesses and budding cricketers from St Johns COFE primary school were invited to join the celebration.
Cloudfm has announced its ongoing support of Essex County Cricket Club by extending its partnership until the end of 2023. It will also be sponsoring its new season shirts with the Cloudfm logo sitting pride of place on the collars and back of the shirt.
To celebrate the launch of the new Cloudfm shirts, the school children worked with some of the players to design their own unique cricket shirts. The winning design was selected and will now be made into a t-shirt for the whole class to enjoy.
Head Teacher and keen cricketer, Craig Twin, set up a cricket club at the school to encourage youngsters to try out the sport. The school team have been invited to play in a local tournament that will take place at Colchester Cricket Ground this summer.
Mr Twin said: “We’re delighted to have been invited to join Cloudfm and celebrate their partnership with Essex Cricket. Having the opportunity to meet the team has been a fantastic inspiration for the children and I hope their enthusiasm will encourage more children to give the sport a go. The children have thoroughly enjoyed meeting the players and taking part in the activities that Cloudfm have organised for them.”
Some of the Essex Cricket team, including Sir Alastair Cook and Ryan ten Doeschate, entertained employees with an informal Q&A session where they talked about their careers so far, and offered advice on how young people could get into the sport. Ryan also discussed the skills required to be an elite cricketer, while Alastair enlightened the crowd on his knighthood and what it was like to meet the Queen!
