A team of dedicated Cloudfm volunteers helped plant up 10 reused whiskey barrels with a range of flowers that have been selected to attract local insects and birds. The plants are also there to put a smile on people’s faces and to be used as a cooking ingredient having planted the herbs sage, rosemary, thyme and oregano. Once the herbs are established office staff are welcome to take a few sprigs if needed for a recipe.
Cloud’s Head of ESG Katrina Christopoulos led the initiative and said “sometimes we can feel a bit helpless with all the big environmental issues surrounding us, this type of initiative gives people an opportunity to act. We had a great time planting the barrels and it was a chance to get to know colleagues a bit better. I also gave a talk on sustainable gardening so some of these positive practices can be taken home”.
